Sports Psychotherapy is a new approach to help athletes overcome issues they may encounter during or after their sporting careers. Athletes face unique pressures which can lead to issues such as deselection, injury, alcohol or substance abuse, performance anxiety, stress, motivation, relationships, issues with teammates and other club staff, depression or other mental health issues. Sports Psychotherapy addresses these issues from the perspective of the athlete in a strictly confidential service which can help them to better understand the issues that may be impacting their performance or their personal lives. The athletes develop effective coping mechanisms which can help improve performance and lead to a happier and healthier life outside of sport.
